  • 16 May 2012: Abebe S. Gebregiorgis has awarded the prestigious NASA's Earth and Space Science Fellowship (NESSF) for research proposal titled ‘Satellite Rainfall Uncertainty Estimation across the Globe for Diverse Hydrologic Applications Using Readily Accessible Geophysical Features.’ The broader impact of the proposal is a comprehensive improvement of the next generation satellite-based precipitation retrieval algorithms that will need a wholesale conceptual redesign during the post-launch era of Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission.  The proposed study will be conducted at global level that includes United State of America (USA), Europe/Mediterranean, Australia, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia. He was one of the 54 selected successful applicants from a pool of 287 nationally. Additional information on this news can be found from the following links.
